Work Package 3

Increase Regulatory Maturity Level in Targeted Countries

Food Drugs Authority (FDA) Ghana leads this work package with the main objective to support 1-4 ECOWAS NRAs to enhance their Maturity Level according to the WHO benchmarking process.

The work starts with mapping of the status of the regulatory systems and clinical trials (CT) functions of ECOWAS NRAs against the WHO GBT.

The West African Health Organization (WAHO) develops a long-term regional plan for regulatory maturity development and facilitate country selection for ML enhancement support by FDA Ghana.

FDA Ghana assists selected countries to identify areas of strength as well as areas for improvement with focus on regulatory system and clinical trials oversight function, to update their institutional development plan (IDP), and to work on their ML enhancement.
